Ons Dagelijks Groen

Doing more with leek greenery

The fate of the green leek leaf? Straight into the trash! As if it’s the victim of the vegetable drawer – just another piece of waste. Completely unfair! At farm shop Ons Dagelijks Groen, they see it differently: green leek leaves are bursting with antioxidants and explode with flavor on the tongue. That’s the leek paradox: we throw away the best part far too often. Time to rewrite the fate of the green leek leaf!

A small revolution
At Ons Dagelijks Groen, they took a closer look at the leek – deep into its green fibers. Then they decided to give the leaves a second life and created a kitchen secret that would even make your grandma jealous: leek herb! Dried and ground, it adds flavor to your omelet, fish, and spaghetti. Your sauce also gets a leek-premium upgrade. Bonus: it can partially replace salt. So more flavor with less salt – a small revolution for your spice rack!

Lots of potential
With their leek herb, Ons Dagelijks Groen artisanally produces leek cheese, leek mustard, leek liqueur, and even leek chocolates (leekolates?). And from Ons Dagelijks Groen we also get our daily bread: leek bread. A product no one asked for – until they tasted it.

Secret ingredient
With these innovative flavor combinations, Ons Dagelijks Groen shows that sustainability and creativity go hand in hand – and that what was once food waste might just become the secret ingredient in your next dish.
