Clean Water Global’s mission is clear: to make the paint and coating industry more sustainable. Not just by managing waste, but by fundamentally rethinking the rinse water challenge.

Studies show that 3 out of 5 people believe that water-based paint can be safely rinsed down the drain. Although it may seem harmless, paint often contains harmful substances such as PFAS, VOCs, heavy metals, microplastics, and biocides. Improper disposal – for example via the sink or sewer – allows these substances to enter our water system. 

From linear to circular
For years, the industry followed a linear model: collect, transport, and incinerate. This approach not only leads to unnecessary CO₂ emissions but also causes irreversible loss of valuable raw materials. CWG takes a different path and opts for a circular approach. They offer a total solution: from awareness and prevention to collection, processing, monitoring, and ultimately valorization.

Using their own technology, they recover raw materials from paint rinse water, giving them a second life. The reclaimed materials are reused in applications such as construction materials and, in the future, even as new paint products. In this way, CWG works together with painters, producers, waste processors, and policymakers to build a clean, circular paint industry.
