Who steers what at Flanders Circular?
Wonky makes tasty, healthy snacks full of retrieved vegetables. It wants to counteract food waste in this way.
And there's no time to lose, because 45% of all vegetables are currently wasted.
Wonky therefore offers a simple and tasty way to contribute to the fight against food waste. The company works alongside the Belgian food-processing industry to give their fresh food surpluses a second life. The vegetables used are always fresh, but they are wasted for aesthetic reasons, efficiency or excess stocks.
In practical terms, Wonky rescues ugly tomatoes, broccoli stalks, basil stems, and surplus vegetables with less popular colours, blocks of vegetables with non-standard formats, etc. Wonky uses these products to make tasty vegetable dips. They can be used in all sorts of ways.
