Winning Foods is a start-up dedicated to creating a more sustainable food industry in Belgium and the Netherlands. It all started by selling instant soups that they make from surplus vegetables. Meanwhile, there is a new concept: ‘the LEGO for food’.
Huh ... LEGO in the kitchen? There are 16 different frozen food blocks. With these, kitchen princes and princesses craft more than 70 varied and healthy dishes. The wide choice gives healthy eating a boost. At the same time, the concept helps prevent food waste. That was good for the We're Smart Future Award ‘Project of the Year’ in 2023.
In doing so, Winning Foods distinguishes itself by going beyond just supplying products. Through educational programmes, they put the spotlight on sustainable food consumption.
With their approach, Winning Foods stimulates a change in consumption patterns and production processes. They want to go beyond reducing food waste. Because they aim for a new approach to food sustainability based on economic viability that goes hand in hand with ecological responsibility.
