Discarded tableware? They deserve a second life

Have you also been loosing your tableware? You are not alone. Every day, thousands of people do just that. A lot of tableware ends up in the container park. But just as many or even more end up in second-hand shops. And especially in the Kringwinkel. Stock Antwerp picks up plates and gives them a second life.

You know the kind: tableware gathering dust in attics and grandma's china cupboard. Plates with bits off and scratches and streaks from forks and knives. Dinner sets in which cups, bases and plates are missing. Stock Antwerp picks those up and gives them a new coat of glaze. So they go from 'no longer needed' to 'as good as new'. And Stock Antwerp does not do this alone. They work together with the Kringwinkel and customisation company Stroom.

Every day, the Kringwinkel adds cupboards, attics and cellars full of crockery. That is a lot. Too many. They are worn out, old-fashioned or incomplete. Stock Antwerp selects these discards. Stroom removes the glaze layer from the plates. The baked stone that remains is given a brand new glaze layer. The plates are then fired again. As soon as they come out of the oven, they are as good as new. The uniqueness of it? Each Stock crockery has its own shape and composition, reinvented in Antwerp.
