Reusable Packaging System (RPS) – Smartmat and red-use on-the-go

Through the RPS project, Smartmat is switching from traditional cardboard packaging to reusable packaging for its meal boxes. To realise this project, a system is being set up to handle empties of reusable packaging. In doing so, the project contributes to solving the tracking problem for reusable packaging (How often used?, Where is the packaging? What did the packaging contain, etc.). With an annual reduction of 250 tonnes of cardboard boxes, the project creates a direct ecological impact. In addition, the project partners want to bring about a shift in consumer behaviour because reusable packaging is, in their view, the direction society should take.
