Who steers what at Flanders Circular?
There are more than half a million electric bikes in use in our country. The less good news is that the batteries of those popular two-wheelers deteriorate over time and their owners are in danger of throwing them away. Fortunately, the Mechelen-based company Ebattery.be is putting sticks in the wheels there.
Every bicycle battery loses 10-15% of its capacity every year. To prevent people from replacing their electric bikes and the battery ending up in landfill, Ebattery started repairing these bike batteries.
How do they do it? Your battery consists of several battery cells and the casing and electronics. Ebattery removes the broken or obsolete cells from your battery and replaces them with brand new ones while reusing the electronics and casing. After the overhaul, your bike battery will last as long as before or even longer. And you save a lot of money. To make things easy for customers, Ebattery even opened a battery box where you can drop off your broken battery 7 days a week, along with a repair form.
With a broken bike, you go to the bike shop. With a less-than-perfect bike battery, you can go to Ebattery from now on.
