Floors made of coffee grounds, furniture made of olive-leaf residues

“What if we could incorporate cranberry seeds and coffee grounds in moulded floors, and they looked good too?” thought the people involved in Orineo. And so ‘Touch of Nature’ was born; a Belgian prize-winning brand for bio-based materials.

Orineo designs, produces and supplies bio-based alternatives for petrochemical products. A notable application is the ‘Touch of Nature’ line. Touch of Nature is a technique applied by the company, which blends bio-based resin with residual flows of biomass (coffee grounds, pulp from juice production, olive leaves) to produce moulded floors or furniture panels. Use of these residual flows imparts a unique texture and look to the products.
