A digital marketplace for surplus food

With Get Wasted, EIT Food is creating a solution to food waste: a digital marketplace for surplus food. On the innovative IT platform, all actors in the business-to-business food value chain can trade fruit and vegetable surpluses with each other. One player's waste is the raw material for another.

Get Wasted sets up chains and collaborations with both actors in the social economy (e.g. sense, Foodsavers) and the mainstream economy (e.g. Compass). It also seeks cooperation with physical hubs and explores synergies with relevant circular initiatives.
