Pay for light, not lighting

Why buy lighting when you can just as easily pay for the light and the accompanying service? That's the idea behind C-LaaS (Circular Light as a Service), which ETAP Lighting first introduced to the market in 2018. The city of Mechelen was the first project, followed by others such as ArcelorMittal, Compost Bag Company, Aerocircular, St. Paulus School, and USquare Brussels.

How does it work? ETAP offers a 'managed services solution' for all your lighting and emergency lighting needs. The customer does not need to invest in a lighting installation. For an annual fixed fee, we provide guaranteed performance. ETAP is responsible for the proper functioning of the lighting throughout the contract period. After the contract ends, it can be terminated or extended.

Through such initiatives, ETAP is making significant strides towards a circular economy. It is in everyone's interest, especially the company's, to handle lighting as sustainably as possible. The fixtures that ETAP produces use the latest LED technology, significantly reducing energy consumption. However, to make lighting circular, the fixtures must first and foremost have a long lifespan. ETAP guarantees a light retention of 97% after 50,000 burning hours, meaning you lose only 3% of the light. Furthermore, ETAP continuously seeks opportunities to limit the use of natural resources. With C-LaaS, circular thinking takes a prominent place. Either the contract is extended, or the customer buys the installation. ETAP also commits to giving the lighting installation a new purpose if the contract ends.
