Boempetat! is a swap store for children's stuff in Boom. Furniture, clothing, bedding and toys for children between the ages of 0 and 5 can be found here. Parents and grandparents bring in old stuff and get tokens in exchange. With these they can buy new things afterwards. Parents who are not yet able to bring in items can get tokens via a partner organization.

With the exchange store the municipality of Boom wants to give parents the opportunity to buy affordable children's items. That purchase is not made with real money, but with tokens that the parents receive in exchange for children's stuff that they no longer need, and thus bring in. At the same time parents can come to Boempetat for information about other organizations, to build a network (both formal and informal) and to find a listening ear. Everyone is welcome in the store, but especially vulnerable parents receive extra attention.

Boempetat is part of the physical House of the Child in Boom. Parents can find brochures and leaflets from organizations in Boom and can contact the staff of House of the Child Boom with all kinds of questions. In addition, House of the Child Boom organizes various activities, information sessions and workshops.

Residents of Boom can use Boempetat for free. Non-residents pay a €25 membership fee per year.
