Greensleep develops mattresses and sleeping furniture based on natural materials such as natural latex, wool and organic cotton. By designing with disassembly, reuse and local processing in mind, the company extends the lifespan of both its products and materials. In this way, Greensleep shows that ecodesign and circularity go hand in hand with comfort and health.
When pure nature simply sleeps better
People spend on average one third of their lives sleeping. Sleep furniture manufacturer Greensleep therefore emerged from the question of how to offer customers the healthiest and most comfortable sleep possible. A search for the most functional materials led them away from industry standards and back to nature. Their mattress, made from natural materials such as natural latex, wool and organic cotton, is not only ecological, but also simply provides a more pleasant night’s rest. Through their efforts in reuse and circularity, the family business led by Thibaut Lambrecht also shows that natural materials are only the beginning of a sustainable sleep revolution.
Circularity that lets you sleep soundly
A Greensleep mattress consists of no less than 99.41% natural raw materials. For the core, Greensleep works with 97% natural latex. An exceptional level of purity, even in the eco-bedding market, where the average is around 80%. The mattress cover is made from organic cotton, wool, silk and flax, together providing a luxurious finish and optimal temperature regulation. As Thibaut would say: “the air conditioning of nature.” For bed slats, only solid ash wood from Eastern Europe is used, with no metal components. In this way, the sleep furniture manufacturer clearly deviates from its sector, where synthetic materials, polyester, elastane and chemical additives are the norm. Thanks to an ergonomically designed structure and 100% natural materials, even people with allergies or back and neck problems find sleeping comfort on Greensleep mattresses. Because natural materials can sometimes be smoother (like silk) or stiffer than synthetic fabrics, they cannot always be processed easily by machines. But for Greensleep, the production challenges do not outweigh the benefits of natural materials for the end user.
