Everyone loves new clothes, but you don’t necessarily want to pay too much for them. But what do people do with the clothes they have hanging in their wardrobes, when they don’t want to wear them any longer? This question led to the creation of ‘swishing’ in the UK a few years ago, known as 'swapping’ in the US.
Swishing/swapping is shopping and exchanging clothing at the same time. People bring nice, clean and usable clothes that they no longer wear to the event, where others can fall in love with them and give them a second life. Swishing/swapping is therefore great for the environment.
Swishing/swapping events can be organised by anyone, across the world. In Belgium, you can find this type of event via www.swishing.be.
