Antwerp’s ietStof sewing workshop works with used textiles and is just about to embark on up-scaling. Simultaneously, it is a local social project, as youngsters develop their talent and self-confidence there, while learning, sewing and designing.
ietStof wants to expand from a small to a major textile workshop. The customers are willing to provide training. Large orders also come in from stores, who want surpluses to be adapted and put back on the shelves.
ietStof reuses fabrics and puts them back into circulation. It is self-supporting and aims to make cost-efficient investments. In the long term, a combination of reuse, raw materials and crafts must be facilitated. ietStof is also involved in up-cycling by selling upgraded clothing. It would like to make sustainable investments in people and enable them to develop self-esteem and confidence by working on their talents and social skills. They can then help to expand the scope of ietStof and learn about business practices.
