Besides less impact on climate and planet, the bio-economy also brings economic benefits. It makes us more resilient, especially by locally anchoring companies in the chemicals, construction, materials, agriculture and agri-food sectors, among others, and connecting these sectors.
In turn, residual streams from sectors such as the food industry can be used to make building materials or chemicals in the bio-based economy. As you can see, everything is connected and is mutually reinforcing.
